A Gym That Feels Like a Team

Apex started with a simple frustration. Two former college athletes — tired of gyms that felt like warehouse meat markets — wanted to build something different. A place where the trainers actually coach, the programming makes sense, and the person on the bench next to you becomes someone you look forward to seeing.

They signed a lease on a raw 15,000-square-foot space in Lincoln Park, hired coaches they'd trust with their own training, and opened the doors in October 2018 with 47 founding members.

Today, Apex is home to over 5,000 members. The space has been renovated twice. The programming has evolved. But the core hasn't changed: results through community, accountability, and smart training.

We don't believe in gimmicks, fad workouts, or selling you something you don't need. Our approach is simple: smart programming, qualified coaches, and a community that holds you accountable.

Whether you're training for a marathon, recovering from an injury, or stepping into a gym for the first time in your life — the approach is the same. Meet you where you are. Build a plan. Execute it. Measure the results. Repeat.

The Space

15,000 Sqft in Lincoln Park

Our facility at 2450 N Lincoln Ave was designed to make training better — not flashier. Wide-open weight floor with competition-grade equipment. Dedicated cardio zone. 2,000 sqft group class studio. Indoor turf area for sled work and conditioning.

The recovery zone includes a sauna, steam room, and stretching area. And because nobody wants to rush out after a workout, we built a smoothie bar where members can refuel and decompress.

Locker rooms come stocked with towels, toiletries, and hair dryers. All you need to bring is yourself.

Monthly Fitness Challenge

A new challenge every month — push-up records, fastest mile, heaviest deadlift. Leaderboard in the lobby. Winners get Apex gear.

Charity WODs

Quarterly community workouts benefiting Chicago nonprofits. Last year we raised $18,000 for local youth sports programs.

Member Social Nights

Once a month we shut down the smoothie bar and throw a member mixer. Meet the people you've been sweating next to.

Bring a Friend Week

Four times a year, every member gets unlimited guest passes for a full week. Grow the community, grow the team.
