Why We Started This Firm
Before founding Valor Legal Group, Michael Valor and Sarah Chen spent a combined 14 years on the other side of the courtroom — defending insurance companies. They reviewed thousands of injury claims. They watched adjusters deploy delay tactics, lowball offers, and bureaucratic exhaustion to wear down people with legitimate injuries.
The breaking point came on the same case: a construction worker who fell three stories because a subcontractor removed guardrails to save time. The worker's family was offered $180,000 for injuries that would cost millions in lifetime care. Michael and Sarah were tasked with defending that number.
They couldn't do it. Within six months, they left their firm, recruited Daniel Reyes from the public interest sector, and opened Valor Legal Group with a single mission: use everything they learned defending insurance companies to dismantle their tactics from the other side. In five years, they've recovered over $500 million for clients across Southern California.
