Brake Repair and Service
Complete brake inspection, repair, and replacement. Your family's safety is our top priority.
Your brakes are the most critical safety system on your vehicle. When they're working properly, you don't think about them — but when something feels off, you need a shop you can trust to diagnose the issue accurately and fix it right the first time. At Ironclad Auto and Tire, we inspect your entire braking system before recommending any work, and we always show you the worn components so you can see exactly why a replacement is needed. No guesswork, no upselling — just honest brake service backed by our 2-year, 24,000-mile warranty.
Warning Signs You Need Brake Service
Squealing or squeaking when braking, a grinding metallic sound, vibration or pulsation in the brake pedal, a soft or spongy pedal feel, the vehicle pulling to one side under braking, or a brake warning light on your dashboard. Any of these symptoms means your brakes need professional attention — don't wait until stopping becomes a problem.
What We Inspect
Our brake inspection covers every component in the system: brake pad thickness and wear pattern, rotor condition and measurements, caliper operation and slide pins, brake fluid level and condition, brake lines and hoses for leaks or corrosion, and all related hardware including clips, shims, and anti-rattle springs. We measure and document everything so you have a clear picture.
Brake Pad Replacement
We carry ceramic, semi-metallic, and organic brake pads to match your vehicle and driving style. Ceramic pads are quieter and produce less dust — ideal for daily drivers. Semi-metallic pads handle heat better and are preferred for towing or spirited driving. We'll recommend the right pad for how you use your vehicle.
Rotor Resurfacing and Replacement
Warped or grooved rotors cause vibration, noise, and uneven pad wear. If your rotors are above minimum thickness, we can resurface them to restore a smooth braking surface. If they're too thin or cracked, we replace them with quality rotors that meet OEM specifications. We never put new pads on bad rotors.
Caliper Service
Sticking or seized calipers cause uneven pad wear, pulling, and reduced braking power. We inspect caliper operation on every brake job. If a caliper isn't releasing properly or a piston is leaking, we'll rebuild or replace it and ensure even braking pressure across all wheels.
Brake Fluid Flush
Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point and can cause a spongy pedal or reduced stopping power — especially under heavy braking. We recommend a brake fluid flush every 2–3 years or 30,000 miles. Our flush replaces all the old fluid in the system with fresh DOT-specification fluid.
Transparent Pricing
Brake pad replacement starts at $150–$400 per axle depending on vehicle and pad type. Rotor replacement additional $100–$250 per axle. Brake fluid flush $89. We always show you the worn parts before recommending replacement.
